I stumbled across your stories about a month ago through another author I was reading and I must say, I have fallen in love with your stories.  Like you, Iam a Jacob Black fan.  Not that there is anything wrong with Edward, he is just a little too emo for my tastes.  Jacob is a man’s man.  He is a strong, passionate, and all-consuming character that I fall in love with every time I read about him.  I think you have embraced what I perceive as his “”true”" character in so many of your stories.  So far I’ve read, The Fragrant Taste of Rain, Walking in the Air, GridCore (OMG that one was hot), and Echoes of Love. I look forward to reading the other stories you have posted here too.

Walking in the Air has been an emotional roller coaster for me.  I have laughed, cried, and swooned through all of the chapters posted so far.  I can’t imagine the struggle you had in writing such a wonderful story.  Bella would sometimes infuriate me as she can be too stubborn for her own good.  I would want to scream at her, “”just give him a chance”"!  Although, I was so proud to see her come into her own as the Thunderbird.  What a great way to write Bella as a strong part of the Quileute tribe.  I just finished the story yesterday and I have to say the last two chapters were the hardest to read. Not because of Alice and Edwards death, but because of the loss of Seth and some of the human characters and the strain on Jacob and Bella.  I’m glad they ended up together and can finally hopefully truly be together.  Any plans for an epilogue and little dark haired children running around?

Anyway, thank you for a wonderful story. I look forward to reading your other fanfics.

I know that there were many moments in reading this that I cried. I know that i can empathize with Bella on some her emotions and reactions. “Um, wow! That was one outtake. The story of the “”Hooker Turkey”" is kind of funny but the story behind is… heartbreaking. I cried BIG TIME. I liked how this story tells is more about Renee but in a way this tells us more about Bella. Bella is so much like Renee. From this outtake you can see where Bella gets her innocence to things in the world and the seeing to giving kindness and respect to others. These are definitely traits that Renee possessed. I loved the meaning behind this also. Renee did something very kind to another person – she gave them their identity back as a person. She treated someone as they are supposed to be treated – a human being – not as a person who is labeled by their profession or beliefs. Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone could be treated like this? If people could get passed the stereo types and treat others the way they should be treated… with kindness.”

” Ok, I’ve just spent the 24 hrs catching up to this chapter. I haven’t laughed

or cried so much in God knows how long. I am without a doubt in love with this

story. Your characters are truly your own only with the borrowed names. Emmett

… so many words come to mind but I think I’ll stick with brilliant. He has

without a doubt captured my heart. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll always be Team

Edward, but I’d happily switch if your Emmett was up for a team.

I am loving how you are building the relationship between Edward and Bella,

while sticking to the heart of what Twilight was all about. I also am enjoying

that your keeping religious values but still giving them all a realistic

appearance. For that I appauld you.

Now, I’m gonna admit I have a strong dislike for a few unsavory characters …

Victor James, Camille (secretly loved her ‘cougar’ wardrobe lol), Geri was

absolutely fantastic the breakdown, had that train wreck feel where you

shouldn’t be watching cause you feel bad but can’t look away because it’s too

“You did an amazing job, m’dear. I loved having to guess the POV; you provided just enough clues to require some inferencing but I was very sure before the reveal. It’s not easy to find the right balance but IMHO you did a great job.

I also felt like you provided both a fresh POV and were true to the original story’s tone. Your Tanya was as moody as any teenager but bored, with an older-than-her-years discontent. Maybe because she knew she was different and that distanced her from her peers. I enjoyed the way you voiced her awareness at being ‘different’, too. Tanya is probably more aware of other girls but hasn’t come to the point of labels.

What a great story you have written and one that I hope are going to continue to write. Clear and to the point, you’ve presented many of the relationship issues that were left unaddressed in the original Twilight books but which confounded many of us in the way they were overlooked. Your confronting narrative is interesting and compelling in its bluntness as it heads towards resolution.

Twilight is a story of raw, young love, fraught with the emotional inexperience of youth and well meant but poor decisions. Stephanie Meyer has said that she wanted Bella to have to make a real choice but her Bella escaped many of the consequences that she would have had to face in light of her insensitive behaviour and at times quite ungracious behaviour.

Edward is not without guilt; while believing that he acted unselfishly, he did not act kindly when he left Bella. For all of his perceived good reasons, his abrupt, brutal leaving left a broken and devastated Bella. Unfortunately neither Edward nor Bella were able to discuss this decision, both too lacking in emotional self confidence and self esteem.

Bella sought comfort from Jacob and his uncritical admiration and affection for her was soothing and healing. However, Bella acknowledged to herself that Jacob was a friend, not a potential lover but she did not discuss this decision with him. Jacob relished and exploited his position, manipulating, undermining and belittling, verbally and behaviourally, Bella’s relationship with Edward.

Edward was confused and hurt by Bella’s continued close relationship with Jacob, however he did not discuss with her how her behaviour affected him. Bella used Jacob to unconsciously hurt Edward. When humans have been hurt, sometimes in a dark corner of their hearts they seek subtle retaliation against those who hurt them, refusing to acknowledge to themselves this secret desire, using weapons which can be disguised as many things, loyalty, love, honour, friendship.

Bella’s constant indifference to Edward’s expressions of his love for her was cruel and unfeeling. She ungraciously accepted his generosity, his offer of marriage, his ring, his gifts with a childish petulance. She belittled his genuine concerns over her safety in their intimate relationship, demanding sex and bargaining for her change to Vampirism. Unfortunately Edward and Bella did not discuss these issues.

Edward, caught up in dreams of eternal love and companionship, fascinated and deeply in love with a human Bella after being alone for so long, was vulnerable to passivity and acceptance in his relationship with Bella. His reluctance to bring issues out into the open gave Bella the power to exploit their relationship. Bella utilised his compliance to her demands and behaviours until her final act of personal treachery, allowing herself to be manipulated by Jacob and flaunting her selfishness by kissing him while Edward and his family prepared to defend her. Bella’s self indulgent night full of tears were easily misunderstood by Edward, he had every reason to doubt her love and commitment to him.

It is amazing that this crucial emotional point in the Twilight books was left unchallenged by the author. Edward would have been heartbroken and shocked by Bella’s actions. How he moved beyond this and allowed their relationship to remain intact is sadly unacknowledged.

Hopefully you will continue with your great story dear Author. Your Edward, by acknowledging his anger and hurt and hopefully confronting Bella on many issues is a much more realistic lover.
