...celebrating Twific by fanfic'ing it!
I know a man who used to read fics… and I know there are few more out there.
The woods is super-awesome
You mentioned my name and it made me blush….:)
Loved this podcast, and the new website!
About Harry Potter fanfic
remember fan fic has been around for a LONG time and so has Harry Potter for 20 years there have been people writing fanfic
Also there are so many places to post HP fic that the review counts are skewed
One that I have found that has to be the biggest one from HP fandom with OOC characters would be the fabulous
Finding Himself by minismoo http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4594634/1/
she also posted it on her site as well as a couple other places in the HP fandom
now I am a bit of a novice in the HP world I know there are many more stories that are much bigger than this one
Loved the episode, ladies. Accept now I have so much more stuff to read. I truly wish I could give up this thing called work and be more apart of the fandom. I agree with you all…it is one of the most GIVING groups I have ever encountered. I’m proud to be a part of it. Wish I could do more!
Wanted to give a shout out to Kassiah who does SO MUCH for the whole fandom! You’re awesome and we love you, bb!!!
As for men who write, isn’t TwiBoy a guy? I’m thinking he’s one of the few who writes some good stuff.
Here’s a topic that I thought might interest folks in one of your next podcasts…the multidimensional layers of fanfic. I really like how authors add pictures, music selections, the banners, and everything else when they are writing a fanfic. It adds SO MUCH more to the whole experience than just reading a book. Some authors like Sebasien Robichaud from the University of Edward Masen actually educate their readers with artwork and literature that adds so much depth to a fic. It amazes me the lengths that some of the authors go to give us this stuff. I’d love to hear your thoughts on meaty fics like that!
Take care, ladies!

I’d have to say the biggest series in the HP fandom is HP and the Paradigm of Uncertainty. It was pulled from fanfiction but is on Snoogle and a couple of Yahoo groups dedicated to the series. It’s been discontinued but the author LoriSummers posted her summary for the rest of the story.
The biggest single story is probably HP and the Nightmare of Future’s Past by S’TarKan on FFn. He updates about once a year, and people still wait for it with bated breath. Makes me look like a prolific author with my bi-weekly/monthly updates and like a noob with my measly review count lol.
Just an FYI, HanFauxLo is a dude who writes fanfic. I’m his beta, and we mentioned him (plus he has a cameo appearance) on our latest podcast at Southern Twinights.
thanks for the info! i didn’t know you had a podcast. im going to check it out
Lovely Podcast ladies! You hit the nail on the head in relation to the generosity of members of the fandom. I am constantly in awe of the fact that lovely people write lovely stories for my entertainment for free. It costs me nothing to enjoy really great authors work. I’m also amazed that people love stories so much that they will create banners and blinkies for them. It must be so gratifying for authors (who, lets face it, put themselves out there with their hearts on their sleeve) to get tangible love and feedback in that way. Really special. That’s why I always feel the need to review when I read – it’s my way of saying thankyou for giving me something and not expecting anything in return. So many clever, talented and generous people in the fandom.
I’m halfway through listening to this podcast but started looking for Six Silent Goodbyes because you all made it sound like such a great fic. Unfortunately, I clicked on the link and she’s pulled it down. I was wondering if it was up at Twilighted or somewhere else. Thanks for another great podcast!
oh no! i have a copy though… i hate when that happens…
Ladder to the Sun- seems like it’s based on a book by L.M. Montgomery called The Blue Castle. I just hope it ends the same way.
